Dr. Jeff Wineinger

Bio

Dr. Wineinger has been involved with eye care almost all his life.  He grew up in Cuero, TX, and worked at his parents’ eye clinic throughout junior high and high school.  Dr. Wineinger received his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston, College of Optometry, and has a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station.  He is trained in the specialties of Corneal Disease and Glaucoma Management.

In addition to performing detailed, comprehensive eye exams, Dr. Jeff Wineinger specializes in treating and managing ocular diseases and injuries, as well as LASIK and cataract co-management.  He prescribes specialty contact lenses, particularly for astigmatism, multifocal, and scleral RGPs for keratoconus.  Dr. Wineinger is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and Central Texas Optometric Society.

Dr. Wineinger’s philosophy is simply helping each patient decide what is best for them.  Utilizing cutting-edge technology to provide the best possible care and the most accurate prescriptions is a component.  He believes honest communication and patient-specific recommendations are key to doing what is best for his patients.  He worked at several independent, private practices in and around Austin, including 20 years of practice ownership in Cedar Park. 

Dr. Wineinger spends as much time as possible with his kids, Alexis and Cole.  He also enjoys adventurous activities such as travel, mountain biking, dirt biking, scuba diving, trying new food, and spending time with friends and family.
